Geothermal
To help the homeowner save money on heating and cooling, we dug this 300 foot trench to a depth of 12 feet to allow geothermal lines to be installed under the frost line.

Land Clearing
IN PROGRESS -- This cozy little cabin in the woods needed some room to breathe, so we cleared out some big oak trees to enlarge the yard, removed some stumps, widened the driveway, and created a bigger turn-around and better access to the shed. Still to come this spring/summer -- we'll be helping the owner add a new retaining wall and we'll update the grading and add drain pipe between the cabin and the shed to better route the flow of water from spring melting and summer rains.

Monster food plot
We helped this avid hunter develop the perfect habitat for whitetails to feed and breed. A full acre of thick woods and brush were cleared to allow for planting of corn, winter rye, soybeans, and other vegetation that help whitetails survive through the long winters. We also created watering holes and bedding areas (using hinge-cutting), and then connected it all with a nice trail system throughout the property. An insulated box blind completed the project. The food plot not only provided beautiful spacious greenery within the densely wooded property, but it also led to the harvest of two beautiful bucks worthy of bragging. Check out the photos!

Home Sweet Home
From the first cut through the thick woods to the final grade for a new home construction, SMK Contracting made it happen! We transformed three acres of a 20-acre heavily wooded and sandy lot into a luscious green park-like setting. It takes creativity and an artistic eye to see what is and envision what it could be. Land clearing and consulting for steel building
IN PROGRESS -- This owner wanted a little help with clearing out a parking area for his trailer and starting a second driveway leading up to his new home. We also provided periodic consulting services to help him and his sons erect a steel building kit.
